WANTED...

So, Greg has been super busy lately with a big trial in Marshall... as I mentioned yesterday. He left at 6:00am again this morning. I have no idea when I will see him tonight. Last night he finished up at around 8:30pm. I am starting to miss him very much! I hate not hearing from him all day, and not having lunch with him.

Christie is doing her very best to keep me busy! Last night I went over for a visit, and we watched American Idol and had pizza. I of course got to hold a happy little boy named Nathan. Such a cutie, but wow my hair is looking a little crazy!! He liked to be bop to the music! Today Christie also met me for lunch at this cute little "ladies who lunch" place called the Eatery. It was tasty! Such a good friend- to put up with me two days in a row!!!

Anyways, here is to hoping that this stupid trial is over soon! I need the husbanito back before my crazy fun Dallas weekend adventure! Courtney just told me that we get to go to Knox and Henderson to look for furniture after Becky's shower. I am kind of pumped. Anyone is welcome to join us, but I warn you... we are shopping machines!!!

Not Sure What to Think...

It is kind of like watching a friend's mom dance like a nut at a wedding. She is too old to be doing it, but you give her props for trying!

What a Day I's Had Today...

Well, it has been a crazy babooshka kind of day! Greg has a big trial going on in Marshall, TX, so he had to get up at 5:00am to go have breakfast with his clients... all the way in Marshall. So that was a fun good morning wake up. It is okay though, I love my hubs, and he can do no wrong. He was singing in the shower- so that was actually kind of a fun wake up call. He never sings in the shower. I rolled out of bed after dosing and headed to Starbucks to get un-groggied. Great, grand, wonderful stuff. Greg's lattes are better, but of course, he was in Marshall.

We had a board meeting today. (Maybe I should call it the BORED meeting! Haha) We have four a year, always a big deal. It went well. Dull as ever, but I guess that is to be expected. The board is made of up of big time lawyers, CPAs and bankers. No offense Greg or any other people that might offend. Just not my thing. I survived, and had a tasty lunch.

THEN KLTV showed up and filmed our story on our scholarship program. Kyle, my boss, and a former recipient were interviewed. I think it went really well! I am so glad I didn't have to do it. Like I said yesterday, I hate being recorded. What is the phobia name for that I wonder? It will be on at 10:00pm- so check it out if you are local!

Now I am just ready to go home. My brain in fried, and I am beat.

I do however have 2 very special "shout outs"

Happy BIRTHDAY Alli!
Happy 3 Month Old Day Nathan!!!

Love you both!

The Weekend Report...

Well, it is kind of a busy day, but I think I can spare a few moments to update the world on my weekend. I know, I know- I do not have a widely viewed blog, but I think the people who do read it look forward to it!

The weekend was alright. A rainy Saturday is never very fun, but I tried to make the most of it. I think my tennis plans got canceled for a reason. Some pretty sad stuff happened early on Saturday morning, so the mid morning was spent doing some damage control. Not going to go into on here, but Katie and I went shopping! I think we will continue to have a lot of fun shopping together the rest of our lives! Here are pictures of Katie modeling some outfits: Isn't she a beautiful little girl! I love her very much!!! We also had fancy cookies and went to lunch. Sarah got some outfits too, but being under 2- she didn't model them for us!

Greg and I tooled around in the car a few times when it wasn't raining. We have enjoyed just driving around and going to Sonic for diet cherry limeades or to Barnes and Nobles for coffee and book browsing. Sometimes Oscar joins us on our drives. He seems to like the wind in his hair like me! I really like spending time with Greg. I married the right guy. We are two peas in a nut shell. :)

Some of my flowers also decided to pop up and say hello from last year. Not too exciting, but I thought I would prove to the world that spring is coming!!
Tomorrow should be a very exciting day. We have a board meeting- always a bit overwhelming, and then the marketing superstar (ahem- ME) secured a story about our scholarship program on the main news station in Tyler (KLTV.com). They are coming at 2:00pm tomorrow to record it. It should be fun. I am hopefully not going to be the one interviewed. I don't mind public speaking at all, but the idea of being recorded sends me nutty. Hopefully I will be able to send it to you guys over e-mail, but I will for sure record it on my DVR! My press release (well a botched version of it) also ran in the Tyler Paper this weekend. Here is the link. Pass it on to people who might be eligible!

Well, that is all. Like I said- fairly calm weekend. I like to do very little on my weekends that I get to stay in Tyler. I did start a new book- so I guess that is exciting!!

Some Photos from Last Night

I thought I would share...

Jenny M & the Terrible Horrible No Good Day

I need to cheer up! It is Friday for goodness sake! I, the normally perky and happy Jenny, am having a bad day! I will let you know why:

1. It is yucky outside.
2. Surprise guest at last nights Valentine's dinner sure did put a huge damper on my Happy Valentine's Day mood.
3. Doc called in the wrong prescription for me... again!
4. I didn't get to have lunch with Greg
5. I have cramps.
6. I am having a very bad hair day.
7. Too many parents have called about scholarship stuff and end up telling me their child's life story- yeah don't care.
8. I ate too much chocolate at lunch, and now I feel bad.
9. Valentine's Day is over :(
10. My tennis event got canceled- kinda glad, kinda not... but I needed a #10.

“Maybe you don't like your job, maybe you didn't get enough sleep, well nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep. Maybe you just had the worst day of your life, but you know, there's no escape, there's no excuse, so just suck up and be nice.”- Ani Difranco

I should be a happy girl. I really have nothing in my life that should bother me. I need to remember that I could be in a far worse place than I am now. My life is practically perfect. As Ani says- I need to suck it up.

Now I am going to force myself to think of 10 things that I am happy about today:

1. My new pink poppy purse
2. I get to see Greg at 5:00pm
3. I had chocolate at lunch
4. I am healthy
5. I have on a cute sweater with pink flowers and jeans- Yeah for my own adaption of Casual Friday
6. I am loved
7. Nathan's I love Aunt Jenny photo I got for V-day
8. Courtney's e-mails while I am at work always make me laugh
9. My blog- a good way to vent and cheer up
10. My tennis event was canceled- needed a #10 again :)

Okay, that really helped. I am my own therapist. Hooray! Maybe I will pay myself $125. 00 and go shopping tomorrow!

Oh, look what I found at my parent's house last night! The picture of Greg proposing. I have a #11 on my happy list!

Hooray for Project Runway Night!

Okay, I was a little unsure of Project Runway early on in this season. None of the designers really stood out to me as interesting or fun. I remembered the good ol' days of Santino and Andre, and I just didn't get that fabulous PR feeling! That is until...
Meet Christian. Yes, he is in fact a guy. A very very gay guy, but wow the boy can sew! Here are some of my favorites so far:

As Christian would say, "Fierce!" That middle one is made out of Reese's Peanut Butter Cup wrappers! How fun is that!

My absolute FAVORITE thing about Project Runway is:
Tim Gunn! With his motivational speeches to the tired and stressed out designers to "Carry On," and his motto "Make It Work!" How can you not adore him? He is a dapper dan, yes, but he makes the show what it is. If Heidi goes, I will still watch. If you take away Michael Kors, I might be a little upset, but if you take away my Tim Gunn- I will never again watch Project Runway.

So, tune in tonight on Bravo at 9:00pm for a FIERCE treat!

Three Years Ago Today...

...was one of the happiest days of my life!

Greg and I were celebrating Valentine's Day a little early since it fell on a Monday. I got all dressed up and drove to Tyler from Canton to Greg's cute little apartment on the downtown square. I remember I had on a black skirt, black satin sleeveless top, and a light pink wrap. We went to dinner at Currents, a little fancy French restaurant in Tyler.

We ordered our dinner, and the salads had made their way to our table. Greg got up to use the restroom, somewhat odd- but I didn't think anything of it. When he made his way back to our table he didn't sit down! He asked for everyone's attention in the restaurant. I was in shock at the point. He told everyone that he met me exactly 2.5 years ago from today, and how he loved me from that moment. He knew that he wanted me to be his wife. He then got down on his knee and proposed to me! I of course said yes!!! It was the most romantic proposal ever! I was shaking and crying, and everyone in the restaurant was applauding. I remember one lady even saying that Greg was a real man for proposing in such a romantic way! Someone even took pictures of the proposal in action. (I am currently looking for those on my parent's computer.)

I honestly don't remember the rest of the dinner. I think I stayed in a state of shock! I am sure it was wonderful, but nothing could beat the sweet proposal of my soon to be husband! It was one of the greatest moments in my life. I had never felt so loved and so in love.

It is amazing that my love for Greg has grown even stronger since that day when I didn't think I could love anyone more. The past three years have been amazing. Of course we have had our ups and our downs, but I couldn't imagine my life with out him. I am so thankful that the Lord sent him my way. I can't wait to see what the next years bring!!!

What I Learned....

this past weekend:

1. To take God's advice.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

2. Misty at Salon Kalea is the best massage therapist in the world.

3. Sometimes I take the simple things in life for granted... like chocolate.

4. My favorite times with Greg are when we just hang out together.

5. Life is precious.

6. I want the wind in my hair.

“Now and then it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy.”

Well, I was Watching...

Oprah yesterday, and they said that I needed a "Wish Wall" to remind myself to "attract" the things I want in life. It is a little out there, but I do agree that if you are reminded of the things that hard work brings, you will work even harder! So here it goes-
My Life Wish List:A swimming pool
A trip to Tuscany (and world travel in general)Mercedes SLK- or something similar :)A fancy bathtub
A 60th Wedding Anniversary Party with Greg in 2065 To write and illustrate my own series of Children's BooksA home surrounded by trees with a wrap around porch

To be a true philanthropist
To be as Healthy as I Can Be

I also wish for the health and happiness of my friends and family... and world peace.

It can't hurt to dream right?!
