Lunch at Home

I went home for lunch as usual. Greg and I are lucky enough to both work about 5 mins away from home, so we normally get to have lunch together at home. Today when I got home I walked around our front yard. I found lots of pretty things!

One of my first roses. All of my rose bushes are about to burst with blooms! I am so excited! Last year they got sick and didn't perform very well. This year they are so so happy! I am sure I will take more pictures soon.

Typical Lunch Time Greg. He takes off his work clothes, we sit in the living room with either leftovers or a sandwich with the pets. Here he is with Oscar, Holly, Woody (hidden by the darkness) and Coco Kitty. I have no animals in my lap- sad. We watch Rachel Ray or something we DVRed the night before.

You can kind of see in the picture, but this is today's outfit. My dress is a bit different and so is the cardigan, but you get the idea!

Today's Outfit

I love how what you put on in the morning can change/predict your attitude. You can't really have a very bad day in a neon orange bow tie shirt, purple cardigan and purple rhinestone watch. I just don't think it is possible. Let's hope I'm right!

Happy Friday! I am very very thankful that it is here!

I have a fairly relaxing weekend planned. I need to paint and play some tennis. My sister Julie's baby is due tomorrow though, so that might make things a little crazy if little Allison is on time. We shall see!!!


Hopefully this awful rain and cold will go away soon. I am not a fan. I like it warm and sunny. I think this type of weather depresses me, and I am not easily depressed!

I haven't done this in awhile... here is today's outfit...

Let the Countdown Begin!

It is officially 1 month until my favorite day of the year... VALENTINE'S DAY! I can't help but love a day that is 100% dedicated to L*O*V*E! I actually decorated on New Year's Day when I took down my Christmas decor, but I didn't get everything finished until this past weekend. I still want to make some cute paper chains like Mrs. Bass, but I will have to do that another day! Here is what we have going on for the Happy Hearts Day decor...

Our mantle is decorated with a Be Mine heart garland and lovey dovey photos of me and Greg...
I got these fun owl place mats for like $2 each at Target... then I opened my Valentine's decor box that I put together last year and found a tablecloth I must have purchased last year (and 4 more V-day place mats- oops!). C'est la vie- you can never have too much Valentine's Day decor!

The Valentine's dish towels have been hung, but Greg tends to dry his hands with paper towels when these are up... might be the pink.

I decided to use some of my Eiffel Tower collection for our centerpiece. Paris is the City of Love! I also got some fun damask candles at Pier 1 that were red and pink. They considered them Christmas items so they were 75% off! Yeah!

I normally use these sweet little butterflies on my Christmas tree, but I decided the would dress up my napkins and my ostrich feathers coming out of an Eiffel Tower...

Pink flowers are a must, and they look super cute in my new red vase that Mrs. Grammon gave me. Thanks Jess!
That is all I have up for the moment... I'd like to find something for my front door/patio. Maybe I will look this weekend.

Oh yeah! I haven't done this in awhile- maybe it is b/c I was a scrub all last week when I was sick. This is the outfit today- kind of dressy b/c I have a meeting... I sure do like my new yellow necklace :)

Resolutions a la Jenny:

1. Spend 30+ mins on my elliptical every day that I don't play tennis or walk the dogs
2. Shop Less and stay on budget
3. Paint at least 3 new works a month if not more and enter more shows
4. Eat less sweets and more veggies
5. Read more and watch less
6. Cook more often than I do... which won't be too hard b/c I never cook
7. Keep playing tennis... and get better
8. Pray every day throughout the day
9. Value the things I have and want less
10. Spend more time with my loved ones

It should be a great year if I keep these up! I didn't set the bar too too high, so I think I can do it!

The Night Before the Night Before Christmas

My Night Before the Night Before Christmas To Do List:

1. Pick up some items at the grocery store... I think I am officially crazy for going
2. Get gas... I hate getting gas. Husband, if you are reading... will you get me gas?
3. Finish adding ingredients to my soup I started at lunch in the crock pot. Oh how I love a crock pot.
4. Figure out how to make homemade Marshmallows and make them5. Make some awesome fudge for family and friends
6. Make the White Chocolate Gorp- with and with out nuts for the kiddos
7. Feed the husband some soup- hopefully it will be okay. I tend to make stuff up as I go when cooking...
7. Exchange gifts with Christie and Nathan- YAY!8. Hope on the elliptical machine for at least 30-45 mins...9. Take a shower
10. Enjoy some hot cocoa with homemade marshmallows with Greg and the puppies by the fire
Oh yes, today's outfit...
I feel I look more like Valentines Day today than Christmas... oh well!

My necklace is way cooler. I have on one of my favorite antique purple glass necklaces. It always makes me have a good day!

I have also eaten 3 clementine oranges today. They are my favorite. I love the way they make my hands smell! I need to invent a clemintine perfume for when they are not in season!

Also, HUGE thank you to Christie and Nathan today who brought me a gingerbread latte! I loved getting a sweet visit from them this morning! Made my day!

It's Christmas at the Moremans!

My house feels like Christmas! I finally took pictures of the wreath and garland I made out of vintage ornaments... not as cute as Courtney's, but I tried!

The Tree, my favorite place to park it and read magazines is on the rug in front.
Can you notice how productive I have been in the wrapping dept! Woo hoo!

I used vintage ornaments that didn't fit on the garland for my chandelier. Kind of fun, I switch out my hang downs each season.

I got this little holiday mail thing off of ebay for .99! I think its fun.

Greg did a lovely job on the lights this year!

This is the Merry Christmas banner I got at Mistletoe and Magic this year. I think it goes well with my kitchen decor. I also picked up some live greenery from Central Market and mixed it with red carnations.

Not sure when I started to gather red fru-fru trees, but I stuck them in my entry this year!

That is all I have I think. Oh yeah...

Today's outfit, the headband is too small for my head and bugging me (and has made a hair dent so it can't be removed), but I feel festive and fun otherwise!
