Whirl of a Weekend: Art Trade

This past weekend was fantastic, crazy, but fantastic!

It started off with a low key Friday. I went to visit my Nana in the hospital. While I was away, my adorable, sweet and amazing husband cleaned my entire studio and closet! It was a horrendous mess, and I was overwhelmed! My dad is coming to build out my closet soon, and I was in disarray trying to get it cleaned out and cleaned up. Organization is not my forte, but my husband is AMAZING and handled it all! It was such a sweet surprise when I got home. I had a very hard week, and he was so thoughtful and kind. It reminded me why I married him 5 years ago this month! (the 29th) I'll post pictures of it when my dad builds out my closet. I can't wait!

On Saturday I woke up and went to the gym to meet my trainer. Saturday 8am training sessions are rough. Then I headed to Big D for a haircut, and met me sweet friend Courtney and her little girl Callie for some shopping. I scored this fun sequin pencil skirt from Jcrew and a cute navy top that I couldn't find a pic of...I also got this shirt from the Gap. I love a tux shirt... I can't help it! I also got some really soft black lounge pants. I've lost a little weight lately, and even my pajama/lounge pants are too big! Good feeling!!
After some great shopping and girl time, I headed to the RISING Gallery for their PINK2010 show! I had had a solo show earlier this year at Rising, and had a great time at their Pink event last year. This year I donated Olivia the Owl to the show, which was a charity event benefiting breast cancer. Olivia sold to a sweet woman who was going to give her to a breast cancer survivor living in Kansas. I love this show! The Wetz brothers do a fabulous job honoring their mother who passed away from breast cancer. Great show!
While I was there I made my first artist trade with the beautiful and talented Gina Marie Dunn! I feel in love with her Gladiolas, and she was interested in a longhorn painting for her UT obsessed husband, so we worked a trade deal! I am in LOVE with my gladiolas painting called "The Gift," and her husband was so excited about his longhorn! It was such a neat experience! I hope to trade again one day! I was equally excited to actually meet Gina and her husband at the show. Such a sweet couple, and she is so talented!!!
Sunday was supposed to be a low key day, so I thought! Greg and I slept in because I was beat from my late night Dallas adventure, and then we decided it would be a good idea to take 3 of our 4 dogs on a walking excursion to the nearby UT Tyler campus... well the campus was a little ways further away than we thought! Our 3 little dogs, especially the chihuahua Holly were exhausted! We had to take several water breaks, and Greg ended up having to go get the car to pick me, Holly and Oscar up. They were spent! Walking for 2 hours with 3 small dogs- not a good idea! They sure slept well though!
It was a great weekend, and I can't wait until NEXT weekend! We have some fun things planned!!!

I'm Planning a HALLOWEEN PARTY!

So this year I decided I am going to have a HUGE Halloween party! Greg and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on Oct. 29th, and I've been dying to have a crazy fun Halloween party ever since!
My theme is the Haunted Moreman Manor! I am basically going to turn my house into the Munster's house from TV! I couldn't be more excited! Throwing parties is a passion of mine. I always think that it is the little details that really make a party great! I hope my husband still loves me after this party. I might be going a little bit overboard, but oh my goodness it is going to be an event!
I'll post updates on the planning as they come, but a couple of weeks ago my sweet friend Jessica Grammon helped me decorate my mantle. The glass hurricains will be filled with food colored water and dry ice to create a smokey effect, and I will add lots of spiderwebs and spiders.
I am so excited!!! I need to get my butt in gear so I make sure I get it all done!

J- List: I'm BACK!

And I am BACK! Sorry I have been such a blog slacker. Hopefully I can be more regular! I hope this makes up for it!!!

As a reminder, these are a few of my favorite things!!!

I am in love. I have always loved Alice in Wonderland's White Rabbit ever since I played the White Rabbit in an ice skating routine when I was 6. Love him, and I purchased this very print for my new office! A steal at $16!

A bit on the pricey side, but so much fun! $24 a piece, very fun and tres chic!

I might have to go get this today! It is on sale for $59.00. I think it is a must have for my living room and the upcoming chilly nights!

I LOVE the love sweater! I love the word love, especially on a navy sweater! It looks cozy and perfect for fall!

I got these in my stocking last Christmas, and after finding one of my diamond earring on the shower floor, I have been sporting them almost every day! I get so many compliments, and they are very sweet.

My lovely friend Alli recommended this book to me. I have just started it, but it is too funny! I recommend! It is about an old woman who wants to relive her 29th year- so good and an easy read!

I'll admit, I was not so sure I'd like a paperless book, but my sweet husband surprised me with one before a recent vacation to San Francisco. I love it! It makes reading in bed so much easier! I also love how easy the nook is on my eyes, and the shop and download instantly with the wi-fi! I love it!

The best thing about October, besides my anniversary, has to be that you can eat CANDY CORN! Most delicious candy ever, well maybe tied with Reese's Buttercups...

I hope you have a LOVELY day! It's good to be back!
