One day...

One day, when my life is again my own, I will blog again. Until then, I apologize! You can catch me in an art show in Salado at the Salado Wine Seller until April, at Caffe Tazza here in Tyler on March 24th, and on KLTV's Proud of East Texas segment on Apirl 3rd at 10:00pm! I am also expecting our first child. To say the least, life is a crazy hot mess, and I am loving every moment of it!

J-List: My Christmas List!

I'm excited to share some of my Christmas wish list with you this year! I hope it inspires you to shop! Ha- just kidding! I gave the new Coach Poppy scent a trial while I was out shopping this weekend. It is great! Light and fresh! It is subtle enough my husband didn't even really notice I had it on. Normally he sneezes and says- wow, what do you have on. I think that is a good sign it is pretty good! I hit up Macy's on Black Friday and purchased a few of these Charter Club Faux Fur throw blankets for family. They feel divine! I happened to purchase myself one in cream too! It looks great on my new green sofa! They are on sale for $29, and I bet you can use a coupon...

If you haven't watched Toy Story 3 yet- you are missing out! This was one of the best movies ever! So sweet and so good!!! It is on my wish list!

Purple Owl PJs from Nick and Nora at Target! I liked a pair of Owl PJs on Oprah's Favorite Things list in her magazine, but they were a fortune. My friend Courtney told me about these. Love them! A steal at $18!

I am a sucker for pretty and pretty tends to sum up Anthropologie! I love these two lampshades! They are perfection!!! Both of them are so whimsical and sweet. I'd be happy with either! They too would look lovely in my home! They are a bit pricey, but I think they are worth it! They are so detailed and colorful!

Whenever I go to the gym I tend to leave my purse at home. I never know what to do with my wallet. I can't leave my license at home, so I end up lugging my wallet with me. This leather wallet key chain from Tiffanys reminds me of my sorority key chain wallet from college, but much nicer! It would be very handy, and of course who doesn't love Tiffanys? Not a great price, but not too, too bad at $95.00.
I saw this little beauty in one of they Macy's Black Friday mail outs. It is a super buy, and a super buy that I fell in love with! I tend to go for antique jewelry, but the color of this stone is absolutely breathtaking. It is a beautiful rare London blue topaz with set in white gold and surrounded in diamonds. I love it! It is somewhat similar to Princess Diana's and now the soon to be Princess Catherine's engagement ring too.I am way too excited for the Royal Wedding, so this will also be a fun reminder of that event. I am excited to hopefully find this under our tree Christmas morning!!! It is on super sale marked down from $1000!
I love Christmas! I know it is not about the gifts, cookies, trees or anything but the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, but I can't help get excited about the whole lot of it!
Merry Christmas and HAPPY SHOPPING!

It's Beginning to Look a lot like CHRISTMAS!

What a wonderful Thanksgiving break! It was fantastic! I got so much done! I had the girls spend a few days with us before Thanksgiving, and we had a blast! We saw Tangled, and we all loved it! Fantastic! It might be my new favorite! A must buy, and maybe see again! Mandy Moore was the voice of Rapunzel. She was fantastic! I've always like Mandy Moore :) We had a fun time goofing around... Fine Dining at Newks, which is the girls new favorite place to eat in Tyler. They loved the Soup!

We decorated the Christmas tree, and had pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving breakfast! After the girls went home and we had Thanksgiving at my parent's house. I attempted my first ever 4:45am Black Friday. I LOVED it! I happend to wake up at 4:30am, and decided it was God telling me to GO! I went to Gap, Bath and Body Works and Macys. I found some great deals! Then I came home and had a little elf help me wrap presents! Greg did a GREAT job on the lights, and says there might even be more! I think it looks like a gingerbread house, and I am thankful he didn't fall off the roof! Bring on Christmas, I am good to go~!

P.S. I did the above painting as well this past week. It is for sale here...

Halloween!

Just a little late posting this... I've always LOVED Halloween! I like to dress up. I can't resist. My Halloween weekend started at work! My boss and I dressed up and surprised teachers with grant checks. So much fun!!
I then had to go visit my Nana in the hosptial as Minnie Mouse. I got some funny looks, but she loved it! Love my Nana! I made chocolate mustaches. She enjoyed that too!

I had a big Halloween party this year! I wanted to celebrate our 5 year anniversary, and enjoy the fun holiday with friends!

My sweet friend Tracy won best dressed female! Yay Tracy!

Lots of yummy food! A good party must! Sad I didn't take more pictures. I would have included my crock pot trio! Tortilla Soup, Meatballs and fancy Sausage Queso!

Spooky blood candles, that almost ruined my table! Glad I had 3 layers of fabric!

Awesome Snookie and Gaga!

Little Red and her Wolf!
I wish I took more pictures. I guess that is a sign of a really good party! We had some overnight guests, and some left after 2:00am! Good night!

I fell in Love this Week- Twice.

My first love of the week, besides my husband of course... I picked up this sweet little guy in the ghetto on my way into work near downtown Tyler. He was all by his lonesome, and I scooped him up and took him home. I love him, but I love them all and Greg said I needed to find him a new home. I pick up dogs a lot, so I am used to this, but I still fall in love with each of them. Good news is that I think I found him a home. I am taking him to meet his new owners in Canton on Friday. I hope it works out! He is the sweetest and most cuddly little guy ever!

My second love of the week,

I saw this online on Monday via Facebook for the Consignment Warehouse in Tyler, and I didn't stop thinking about it. I had to have it. I emailed it to my husband, and he actually liked it too! I love him for this- he gets my funky style. He showed it to a friend in his office, and it turns out it was his grandparents!!! They took it to the consignment shop this past weekend! Too funny. They purchased it in the 1960's in Chicago for $3600! I am so excited to be it's new owners, and I think our friend's family is excited I love it so much too!

I got it home, and I love it!

It is a little snug, but I plan to move the china cabinet a bit and pull the sofa away from the piano a bit more. We were just beat last night from moving everything. My favorite new spot is by the piano curled up on the loveseat section of the sofa. I think it is so fun that the couch, loveseat and chair are all stuck together! Heaven on lime green velvet!

Whirl of a Weekend: Art Trade

This past weekend was fantastic, crazy, but fantastic!

It started off with a low key Friday. I went to visit my Nana in the hospital. While I was away, my adorable, sweet and amazing husband cleaned my entire studio and closet! It was a horrendous mess, and I was overwhelmed! My dad is coming to build out my closet soon, and I was in disarray trying to get it cleaned out and cleaned up. Organization is not my forte, but my husband is AMAZING and handled it all! It was such a sweet surprise when I got home. I had a very hard week, and he was so thoughtful and kind. It reminded me why I married him 5 years ago this month! (the 29th) I'll post pictures of it when my dad builds out my closet. I can't wait!

On Saturday I woke up and went to the gym to meet my trainer. Saturday 8am training sessions are rough. Then I headed to Big D for a haircut, and met me sweet friend Courtney and her little girl Callie for some shopping. I scored this fun sequin pencil skirt from Jcrew and a cute navy top that I couldn't find a pic of...I also got this shirt from the Gap. I love a tux shirt... I can't help it! I also got some really soft black lounge pants. I've lost a little weight lately, and even my pajama/lounge pants are too big! Good feeling!!
After some great shopping and girl time, I headed to the RISING Gallery for their PINK2010 show! I had had a solo show earlier this year at Rising, and had a great time at their Pink event last year. This year I donated Olivia the Owl to the show, which was a charity event benefiting breast cancer. Olivia sold to a sweet woman who was going to give her to a breast cancer survivor living in Kansas. I love this show! The Wetz brothers do a fabulous job honoring their mother who passed away from breast cancer. Great show!
While I was there I made my first artist trade with the beautiful and talented Gina Marie Dunn! I feel in love with her Gladiolas, and she was interested in a longhorn painting for her UT obsessed husband, so we worked a trade deal! I am in LOVE with my gladiolas painting called "The Gift," and her husband was so excited about his longhorn! It was such a neat experience! I hope to trade again one day! I was equally excited to actually meet Gina and her husband at the show. Such a sweet couple, and she is so talented!!!
Sunday was supposed to be a low key day, so I thought! Greg and I slept in because I was beat from my late night Dallas adventure, and then we decided it would be a good idea to take 3 of our 4 dogs on a walking excursion to the nearby UT Tyler campus... well the campus was a little ways further away than we thought! Our 3 little dogs, especially the chihuahua Holly were exhausted! We had to take several water breaks, and Greg ended up having to go get the car to pick me, Holly and Oscar up. They were spent! Walking for 2 hours with 3 small dogs- not a good idea! They sure slept well though!
It was a great weekend, and I can't wait until NEXT weekend! We have some fun things planned!!!
