Resolutions a la Jenny:

1. Spend 30+ mins on my elliptical every day that I don't play tennis or walk the dogs
2. Shop Less and stay on budget
3. Paint at least 3 new works a month if not more and enter more shows
4. Eat less sweets and more veggies
5. Read more and watch less
6. Cook more often than I do... which won't be too hard b/c I never cook
7. Keep playing tennis... and get better
8. Pray every day throughout the day
9. Value the things I have and want less
10. Spend more time with my loved ones

It should be a great year if I keep these up! I didn't set the bar too too high, so I think I can do it!

Such a Happy Christmas

What a wonderful Christmas break I had with my family and friends! We had a lot of down time and just pure relaxation. I loved it! Here are some photos...This year every puppy and the kitty had their own stocking with a toy inside. They loved opening them! Next year I will be fancy and get their names on there!

Greg ready to open up the goods on Christmas morning in his Christmas pjs.

I got an antique turquoise mermaid ring... I LOVE IT! Greg also got me a Coach wallet to help me be more organized. I tend to just use my wristlet and can never find anything in it when I need it.
You can see how much fun I had opening gifts. I had a Coach Christmas! Greg super shocked me with everything he got me. He is the sweetest husband on Earth! He even found the yellow necklace from Anthropologie that I had been eying for months!I love love love this purse and its stitching. He did good.

After presents at our house we headed to my parents.... we tend to overdue it a bit.

Me and my sweet Katie Rose being silly. Yes, I wore my necklace and new puppy pj's all day!

Mom and little Sarah. Sarah got an awesome play kitchen from my parents. It lights up and sizzles! My poor Nana was worried the kids were going to burn themselves on it all day...

One of the gifts my parents got me are these sweet yellow bluebird tea cups from Anthro. I love them in my kitchen!

This was one of Greg's favorite presents from me. We are officially addicted to Guitar Hero. We are in a "band" together, and we've played everyday so far!

Me modeling my purse for Greg. I think he likes the hunt of figuring out which ones I like and tracking them down!

We had a wonderful Christmas! It is one of the best I can ever recall!

Oh yes... la outfit'....

I wish you the Merriest of Merry Christmases!

Last night I did pretty good on my To-Do List. The store wasn't too too terrible, and the soup turned out okay... but we have yet to eat it because Greg's boss gave us a ton of super yummy tamales. They were delightful! Christie and Nathan came over to play. Nathan was all over the place and had a great time with my pots and pans and our baked lays :) He is too cute! We exchanged gifts...

Christie got me some totally awesome dog days of the week towels...

and a really cute dog recipe holder made out of spoons! I love it!

Nathan enjoyed his classic Fisher-Price phone pull toy. How can you not have one as a child?
Isn't he sweet :)
The Marshmallows seem to have worked. I followed Martha's recipe. Here are some photos of the stages...
heating the sugars to "ball" form... whatever that means. I just knew at 240 to take it off the burner!

Marshmallowing it in the mixer

waiting overnight for it to dry out. My mom gave me a bunch of my grandmother's old pyrex baking dishes. I think they might make everything taste better!
I hope they are good! I will try to cut them tonight.

I had a great time last night! We will have the soup for lunch, if anyone was wondering... I also even managed to hop on the elliptical machine for 35 mins! Woo hoo!

Tonight, Greg and I are going out to dinner and to look at Christmas lights. The rest of the day... after work (boo! I get off at 2 though) will be baking for tomorrow at the parent's house.

Have a MERRY MERRY Christmas! I will be back sometime next week!

Oh yeah... Today's Outfit: I had to make the sweater on Polyvore b/c nothing I found even came close...

What I am Wearing Today

Work Outfit 12/22/08 by JennyLove82
My necklace is way cooler. I have on one of my favorite antique purple glass necklaces. It always makes me have a good day!

I have also eaten 3 clementine oranges today. They are my favorite. I love the way they make my hands smell! I need to invent a clemintine perfume for when they are not in season!

Also, HUGE thank you to Christie and Nathan today who brought me a gingerbread latte! I loved getting a sweet visit from them this morning! Made my day!

Inspiration

I came across a photographer on absolutely beautiful things. Her name is Yvette. I love her work. You can see it here...

Here are some of my favorites...

The Squirrel

The Slip

Orchid

Here is a link to her Etsy store. Her mission is very similar to my artist statement. Finding beauty in everything little thing.

Foox

My artist friend David and his wife Jessica are living the wonderful successful artist life! David recently had a show at Paper Magazine’s Nightlife Awards. He met my favorite tv star from my favorite show Project Runway... Christian. I love him!!!
Super jealous of the rock star life David leads!

Anyways, David and Jessica have been true mentors to me this past year. Their friendship and guidance has been one of the biggest gifts. They invited me to be apart of their collective, KungFoox, and have gotten me excited about my artwork again. The Fooxs are also the epitome of cool...Check out their fun new site. I purchased the organ donor dolls for Dr. Heidi. I am hoping they will be well received with the kids/doctors at her hospital. Go check out Foox-U!

Holiday Treats 2008 and Some Funny Pics from 1989ish

I started on Wednesday night and finished last night. I always bake lots of goodies for my coworkers and my husbands. I enjoy it, but I am probably the messiest cooker you will ever meet. Good thing Greg decided to help me clean up. I might still be working at it! I forgot my camera last night, but I also made cake balls, White Chocolate Moose Munch (also called white trash) and toffee!Oreos dipped in chocolate sprinkles with candy cane crumbs... Jaran and Dad would like these!

Rolo Pretzel Reindeer... yum.

Ritz crackers with cashew butter dipped in chocolate... tasty!

I also came across these two pictures in some boxes my parents sent over on their last visit. The first is me being my "look at me, look at me" self (says Greg). Apparently it was nerd day at school. Jaran remembered. I had no idea, I just thought I was a terrible dresser! The 2nd is Jaran, Emmy and myself... looks like Country Western Day! Lovely eh!?

And... What I am wearing today. Not too exciting, but the shoes are fun!
