Whirl of a Weekend!

I had a very fulfilling, busy and happy weekend! I started my weekend with a photography session at my co-worker's farm. I take the pictures for our annual report every year. These are some of my favorites...
The light was GREAT when I started, then it got dark, cloudy and rainy in the 15 mins I was out there! Might need to try again.

Friday night Greg and I hung out with our puppies. Holly had her spay surgery that day, so she needed lots of TLC. We had pizza and just relaxed. It was lovely!

On Saturday my day started with tennis. Wow, singles tennis is a tad harder than the doubles I have been playing. I also played up a level in this tournament. That with my singles skills lacking- I lost. I played well in the morning match though.

In between my two matches I had Nathan's 1st Birthday! It was cookie monster themed. Oh so fun! We had a great time. He is the cutest kid on earth! It was a tad chilly, but I enjoyed it. I even went down the slides! I am such a kid at heart, and I think I look stupid in baseball hats. Oh well! Nathan in his cookie monster shirt

Me and the hubs hangin' with Mr. Nathan

I took Nathan down the slide- Bethany is too cute. She is so stinking smart! She is 3 and was explaining to me how rockets work!

That evening I had my 2nd tennis match- which is why I was already dressed for it at Nathan's party. It was FREEZING when the sun went down. I warmed up rather quickly though b/c the woman I played wore me out! She had me running from corner to corner and beat me pretty badly. It shows that I have a TON to learn in playing singles. I loved it though. Such a good work out.

My body hurt in places I didn't even know existed on Sunday! My brother played in this tournament too. He was playing in the finals on Sunday morning, so I rolled out of bed with Mr. Oscar and went to watch. He is good. I need to be half as good as he is. Oh well, he played well but also lost his last match. He hadn't played in a tournament in ages! I was proud of him!

The rest of the day Sunday I just ran some errands and lounged around. I was feeling a bit puny. I think all of my crazy activities allowed me to catch a cold. I am hoping it goes away before Jessica's wedding this next weekend! I can't wait!

Thursday Night Fun

Last night I went to Mistletoe and Magic, a Christmas themed shopping fiesta hosted by the Tyler Junior League, with Christie, her Nathan, Jennifer Jennings and myself. I ran in to lots of friends while I was there too. I had a fabulous time! Normally I don't really buy much at these things, but last night I found way to much stuff that I had to have! I got the most girlie knit gloves for tennis when it is chilly, some amazing fancy almond lace cookies (got these last year- had to get them again!), Holly a fancy ballerina collar and a vintage looking Merry Christmas triangle banner.
Mr. Nathan wore his 100% boy shirt last night. It is SO true! He is all boy and so cute!

I got home around 9:00pm and thanks to the Yahoooooooz fancy coffee I was able to finish my newest longhorn painting for the Hotel NYLO competition. I think I will call him Longhorn Love. What do you think?

I had to take poor little Holly Golightly to the vet this morning to get her femininity removed. We will take good care of her! She is excited to wear her ballerina collar during her recovery! She enjoyed trying it on last night.
I am playing SINGLES in a tennis tournament this weekend in Tyler. I am nervous. I haven't played singles in over a year! I am going to hit everything into the ally. Oh well, should be fun. I also have Mr. Nathan's 1st birthday party this weekend!!! I am super excited! Happy Friday everyone!!!

J-List: Favorite Beauty Products Edition: Part I

These are some of my favorite beauty products. They are the basics. I will do a post later with the make-up type stuff I like. Get excited!!!

Mistral Extra Rich Shea Butter in Vanilla Apricot This is the BEST lip product I have ever used. Say goodbye to chapped lips for all of winter with this lovely little pot of heaven! It smells divine too!

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion SPF 15After watching Oprah's Beauty show with Dr. Oz, I decided to take preventative measures with my face. I have always worn a moisturizer with sunscreen, but now I use this one that has Vitamin C, E and Alpha Hydroxy Acid. I can already tell a difference and have only used it for 3 days! My face feels much softer- I love it!

Cetaphil Cleanser
Somewhere in my early 20's my face decided to be more dry normal than oily normal. This cleaner is so gentile and non-drying. I love it! The dry winter air won't bother me a bit!

Oil of Olay Quench Body Lotion
This lotion really feels like it stays with you all day. It doesn't feel greasy, but you just feel soft all day like you just put lotion on. It is great!

Oil of Olay Daily Facials- EXPRESS!Sometimes I am just too tired to wash my face at night. These little helpers make it super easy to go to bed with a clean face! No water is involved! They really get all of the dirt and make-up off too! Fabulous for lazy me.

So fresh and so clean clean!

Totally Awesome

Okay, you really need to sign up for these two websites.

The first is www.upromise.com
It is a site that you shop through and it saves money for school. You can save money for your kids, your friends kids, pay off student loans and even if you don't have kids you can start now and save. You just shop through the site, or put it in your tool bar like me, and it tells you what percent of that store will go to your savings. You can also link your credit cards, CVS cards, grocery store cards etc... to save money while you buy other things. I started 2 weeks ago and already have $18.05 in my account! It is going to go towards my hubby's law school loans. We have a long way to go, but it helps right?

Another is Salemail. It is also known as Shopittome.com. This is realllllllly cool. You enter in all of your sizes and favorite designers/stores and it will e-mail you every day with your favorite stuff that is for sale in your size! I have found the BEST deals! I am not sure how you sign up, but I know how to refer someone from my e-mail. So if you are interested e-mail me- jennifermoreman@gmail.com- and I can send you a link!

I saw this on another blog I read. I love it. It is now my desktop background. Enjoy!

Okay, I Couldn't Resist...

One of my new additions to my Cafe Press shop...

Life Goes On

I don't feel like doing a post on the election, but not because I am a sore looser. I am just burned out on all things politics. I wish Obama the best and will pray for God's guidance and wisdom for him. He has one tough journey ahead of him! McCain was noble and gracious as ever last night.

I spotted this Lucky Planner by Sarah Pinto on A Line Skirt's blog. Isn't it cute!

Little Holly Update...

We thought we had a wonderful home for little Holly Golightly, but it did not work out. I am so tempted to keep her! I love love love this little girl!

Happy Election Day!

I am pretty darn excited about today! I voted early, so no long lines for me- woo hoo! I have tennis tonight, which isn't over until about 9:00pm, but hopefully there will still be plenty of election coverage excitement when I get home!

Today's decision will make history no matter which way it turns. I hope it turns MY way, but we shall see!!

Go out and vote today! Free Starbucks and Ben and Jerry's if you do too!

Whirl of a Weekend!

Well, not really... I had a super relaxing weekend at home with my sweet husband and puppies! On Friday night we had one lone trick or treater, and then we shut down the candy operation early and watched Baby Mama. Not superb. It had its funny moments, but Greg got bored about 30 mins into it. Never a good sign!

After that I finished up a painting for a competition I am entering and helped Jaran dress as Ms. America for Halloween Festivities over the phone. Had some issues with the painting, but I am pretty happy with the results...
On Saturday morning we found a little chihuahua puppy prancing up and down on our street. Of course we had to take her in! The poor girl was covered in fleas and did not have on a collar or tags. I called around to our local animal shelters and no one seems to be missing her. I named her Holly after Holly Golightly because her markings make it look like she is wearing stylish tan boots. Oh she is so sweet- super cuddly and little! We wanted to keep her, but we have 4 animals already. Greg took her to work this afternoon and a sweet lady named Betty is going to adopt her. She promises that we can visit her, and she is keeping her name Holly Golightly! I couldn't be happier! That about sums up the festivities of my relaxing weekend. It was so nice to stay in Tyler for once!
