A Petit Update

+What a crazy week! Had the art show on Wednesday... it went well! Thank you to everyone who came to the opening. It was nice to see all of you! Here are some photos...I also had a lovely minor toe surgery yesterday. All because of a little accident I had in December 06- yuck. It was a painful day and I cried like a baby, but Greg took good care of me. Christie also brought me chocolate, which really helped! At least my bandages are purple! Katie also got a little cast on her arm- we were bandaged together! Hopefully I will be all better by next Saturday when we head off to DC!

KungFoox Art Show is TONIGHT

Hello hello! I am so excited! I finally got myself back into the art community! It took me a little over a month to accomplish my goal. (Read my March 13th posting!!!) My first gallery showing since college- well except for dear Don at Opus in Addison- is tonight!! I have 8 paintings on display, and I got my own little corner! I am pumped!!! I had a lot of fun hanging out with David and Jessica Foox last night- fun awesome people! I met a lot of really talented artists in East Texas. I guess since it is just about show time I can share a bit of the work that will be up... Enjoy!

Weekend Report

Okay, hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! Christie's party went wonderfully, and the rest of my weekend went really well- except for the minor detail of Katie Rose breaking her arm while I was on babysitting duty!!! Of course she would do that when I was babysitting! My first time ever to babysit both girls for the day. Maybe it is a sign from God that I am not motherly? No idea... all I know is that I told her to be careful and not jump out of the swings anymore, but of course- that is how it happened when I went in to make lunch. I did take care of her until her mom got home though. I even invented a new type of rice crispy treat with the crazy cereals Julie had in her pantry. They made Katie feel better!

Greg's cousin found me on MySpace, and had all of these fun pictures up of my husband and his family from back in the day. I thought I would share! Feel free to make fun of Greg's 70's jumpsuit whenever you like! Greg and Amy Greg and his 70's gear!Amy looks like Annie!

Yeahhhhhhhh

I am pretty excited that it is FRIDAY! It has been a long and crazy week!!! Scholarships should wind down next week, and then I am off to DC with my hubs for a full week!! Hooray for that!

So, I was kind of stressed e-mailing my dear amiga Courtney, I laughed so I thought I would share!

Oh Courtney… I am overwhelmed with junk to do, but can’t get the motivation to do it. What do I do? I think you were like this earlier this week. I need to notify all of the kids of their scholarships- but I am just not feeling it!- Jennifer

Whenever I’m over it and not motivated I get up from my desk go get a diet coke and come back to my desk and stick a piece of chocolate in my mouth and say to myself “Self………Make it happen!!!!” and I mow through until it’s done!!!!!!!! J

I am throwing a birthday party tonight for a dear friend. I am pretty excited! So I will "mow" until 5, and then I am free! So, here I go. Time to "mow" through it! Bring on the chocolate! I love Courtney! She rocks- and I am super excited for her and her hubs b/c they are moving into their house this weekend! WOO HOO!

Whirl of a Weekend!

What a crazy weekend! I am so sore and so tired. I played like 8 hours of tennis this weekend. It was beautiful outside, but wow- that is a lot of tennis! I didn't play very well either- so that didn't help!I guess even Andy Roddick looses sometimes!

I did finish up all of my paintings for the upcoming Kung Foox show though- so that is FABULOUS! I always paint well on Friday nights- it must be when I am least stressed out. I hope everyone can come to the show!!
I am really busy with work right now too. April is just nuts.I am looking forward to my trip to DC for a little relaxation and fun with the hubs. Too bad I have a conference to attend- luckily it is only 2.5 days of conference and 4.5 days of fun!!!

Meet Woody!

We got him at the East Texas Animal Rescue Shelter (aka ARF) on Saturday. He is a Chihuahua possibly Boston Terrier, not sure, mix. The vet seems to think he is around 4-5 months old. All of the dogs seem to like him. Celis and him snuggle in the sunshine, and Oscar is still a bit nervous but coming around! Woody's favorite thing is riding around in the car with mom and dad. He also loves to be held. We are so excited to add him to our little family!

Grant

Grant is my work day companion. He always listens to what I am thinking- I don't even have to say it. Grant just knows. He used to have a brother Mark (aka Marketing), and a pesky little sister Shipa (aka Scholarship). He is much happier on his own. Mark was a drama queen and Shipa liked to nip tails. We down sized his bowl, and now he gets 100% of my work day attention. We look at each other and make faces. He is a great fish.

The Bleeker Straw Coach Tote in Vermillion. This is the newest addition to my little Coach collection. I got lucky b/c it is already sold out online and in Coach stores! They might bring it back, but there are a few out there in department stores I hear. I love it!!! The Eyelet Wrap Dress from Banana Republic. Such a cute spring dress! I am all about dresses these days. Keep the pants in the back of the closet til fall girls!!! Mona Lisa Door Mat at Uncommon Goods. Could this be any more fun???
