Okay, sorry for all of the art posts. With my show coming up, I have it on the brain. This is what I made a huge mess doing last night. It is a pretty big canvas- 30"x40". I turned my legs all shades of the rainbow with paint splashes. Let's hope that my little plastic sheet did its job to protect the carpet in my guestroom/studio...
This is what I am planning to do tonight. I wanted to try it out via photoshop today before I take the plunge.
What do you think?
AND GOOD NEWS! Little Lost Lucy went home with a GREAT family last night! I am so happy! Great job to my husband for saving this sweet puppy and finding it a wonderful new home!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Game Time!
So, Mrs Lipman posted a super fun game that I could not pass up on joining! If you want to play, leave me a comment and I will assign you a letter. Then, post about the game on your blog and list 10 things that you LOVE that begin with your assigned letter! Jennifer assigned me the letter "R"...so here is my list of 10 things that I LOVE that start with R!1. Rick Rack- random "R" Love, but I love any sort of trim. I like to decorate stuff with it.
2. READING!- I love to read. Books are wonderful. I love the smell, the smooth pages and their content!
3. Red- One of my favorite colors. So bright and vibrant!
4. Roses- living in Tyler how could I not love them?
5. Romance- who doesn't love a little romance every now and then?
6. Roasting Marshmallows- Greg and I do this on our patio with our chiminea. So much fun!
7. Rescuing Puppies- it can be really heartbreaking, but the satisfaction of finding a puppy a new loving home is so rewarding.
8. Rocky Road Ice Cream- Marshmallows, nuts and chocolate- tasty.
9. Random Acts of Kindness- there needs to be more of them everyday!
10. Reaching High in the Sky- I like to stretch. It is refreshing... come on now- everybody do it!
And there you have it....my list of 10 things that start with "R" that I LOVE. Let me know if you want to play!
11. I really love Reese's Buttercups- Thanks Jaran!

Books, Lost Puppies and Hooty Whooos
Yesterday my books I ordered from the totally awesome Barnes and Nobles 75% off sale came in- YAY! I am so excited to dive into them all! I love sales and free shipping!
Greg also picked up a little lost puppy yesterday. I have named her Little Lost Lucy. We are trying to find her parents, but alas, no one is claiming her lost. I get pretty depressed about irresponsible pet owners. Anyways, this is our new foster doggie. Her ad runs in the local paper, and I will start to try to find her a new home by the weekend. So sad, but she is such a sweet girl it shouldn't be too hard. I think she is a boxer and terrier mix. She is about 20 pounds and very much still a puppy. She loves to play, is crate trained and is very friendly. Let me know if you are interested in giving a little lost puppy a loving home.
I also worked on my first owl painting last night. I had so much fun! I am not sure if this one is done or not, but I am sure I will keep painting some crazy owls!

A Parisian Pink Poodle Tea Party Baby Shower
This past Saturday we had a baby shower for my sister. She is having girl #3! Little Allison Renee is due around St. Patrick's Day. So, we had a little family shower for her. We had a great time! Here are some of the photos!
A very girlie tablescape was a must!
I love hanging things from clotheslines at showers... it adds a lot of fun I think!
Part of my Eiffel Tower collection served well as the centerpiece!
Katie helped me decorate the cupcakes! I think they turned out tres chic!
Sarah didn't want to put anything on her plate b/c she didn't want to mess up the poodle
Sister Julie with Katie and Sarah and Baby Allison on the way!
What girl doesn't love a tea party!? We even put pink and red sugar sprinkles in our tea to turn it pink. Not to self- mom might need pink tea cups for her birthday since she will have 3 granddaughters...
Me and sister- she is about to open my gift!
Cat in the Hat Onsie- cutest thing I have seen in awhile!
The baby bedding- which explains the shower theme. The poodle is on the other side...
Me and Katie worn out from all of the party goodness- watching a little American Girl movie and being silly

I've Made it Big Now!
My very first blog award! The super fun Jennifer Lipman gave me the award, and I am so excited! Here are the steps...
1. Say one nice thing to the man in your life: Just one huh... He is utterly and undeniably my soul mate.
2. List at least 6 ways you measure success in your life:
- Quality and ever lasting friendships.
- A happy marriage.
- That I am not afraid to be myself.
- To make a difference in something I really care about.
- Being healthy and balanced.
- Having no regrets.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
At Last...
Politics aside- this makes my heart smile. You can just see how much they love they share!

La Petit Book Club
Last Thursday I decided I needed to start a book club, and last night we had our first meeting! I feel like a productive girl! We met at my favorite coffee, art and yummy food spot, Caffe Tazza in Tyler. (Where I will have my art show on Feb. 5th- please come... hint hint)
I invited my two friends Christie and Tracy, and Tracy invited her two friends Tish and Jessica. Everyone seemed excited to be a part of a new club that encourages us to read good books, have fun gatherings and make new friends.
Here is our first club photo...From right to left, Me, Tracy, Jessica, Tish and Christie...
To get things off on a fun start, I picked the book Summer at Tiffany by Marjorie Hart. I had previously blogged about this book from my Barnes and Nobles sale post earlier this week. It looks like a fun and easy read. I think everyone is just as excited as I am about the book!
Our next meeting will be in one month, and I can't hardly wait! I am going to host the first actual book review meeting, so I will be brainstorming on fun ways to incorporate the book into the event. I am excited to say the least!
P.S. We still need a name. Any ideas? We all like being creative, books, dogs and we all live in Tyler.Me and Tracy... she works upstairs from me now- Hooray!

Super Food: Chocolate
I am learning that I can't live with out chocolate. It is in my genes. Thanks to Dr. Oz, I am also learning that dark chocolate can be really good for you in moderation. A tiny piece takes care of my chocolate cravings, which is great! Here are some websites that discuss why dark chocolate is a tasty healthy treat!
